Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) assessments for

children, young people and adults

We Offer

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Assessments
to children, young people and adults

The tools used in the assessment are evidence-based. The assessment process is in keeping with the The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

NICE guidelines for Children & Adolescents

NICE guidelines for Adults

Typically, this involves gathering background information, clinical interview (using Autism diagnostic interview [ADIr] where appropriate), questionnaire data, information from other sources (school, university) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). The assessment varies depending on the age of the individual being assessed and their personal circumstances.

The assessment is carried out by clinicians accredited in the administration and interpretation of the assessment tools used. ASC is diagnosed in accordance with DSM V and ICD 11 criteria.

About
Mother of primary school aged boy

"Seeking an autism assessment for my child was initially a daunting process and after much research we decided to go with Sussex Autism Assessments. I found Andrew’s approach to be calm, warm, knowledgeable and empathetic. All parts of the process were fully explained and I felt the team got to know us and my son, allowing us to share our feelings and concerns with autism. I found the process, and talking with Andrew to be a validating and affirming experience. Finally having a diagnosis for my son will help him understand himself as he grows older, and navigates the world. Thank you Sussex Autism Assessments."
